How to build a shoppable Shopify link in bio

Create a clear Shopify link-in-bio page with product tiles, collection links and a simple review routine for destinations and published content.

A Shopify link in bio should help a visitor move from a social post to the right product or collection with as little uncertainty as possible. Shopify describes link-in-bio tools as mobile-friendly landing pages that can hold several calls to action and shopping routes in its current link-in-bio guide. Flockly's Shop Grid gives every plan a hosted public page with product or custom destinations. You can claim a stable handle, add up to three custom links, and connect eligible Instagram or TikTok image posts to Shopify products or other valid website destinations.

Decide what the page should help people find

Begin with the journeys people already take from your social profile. A visitor may want the newest launch, the product shown in today's post, a complete collection, a size guide or the main shop. Put the highest-value and most frequently requested destinations first.

Keep the structure small enough to scan. Three specific links usually beat a long directory. Labels such as “Shop the summer collection”, “New arrivals” and “Find your size” tell people what happens next. “Click here” and “More” make them guess.

Shop Grid post tiles can provide the more detailed layer. Each eligible tile shows a still image associated with an Instagram or TikTok post and opens the destination selected by the merchant. This gives a follower a visual route from a recent post to the matching item without placing a long product address in the caption.

Claim and protect a stable address

Open Shop Grid in Flockly and review the suggested address under Your link. Choose Edit to claim an available permanent handle, then copy the address shown in the app.

Before claiming it, check spelling and whether the handle will still make sense if a campaign name changes. A claimed handle is stable, but changing it later breaks the older address already used in a bio. If you do change it, update every published profile and saved campaign destination.

Until a permanent handle is claimed, the fallback is based on the store name and can change when the store is renamed. Per-store custom domains are not currently included. The live page uses the Flockly-hosted address so it remains available outside Shopify.

Set up the public page

Open Customise page and complete the parts a visitor needs to recognise the store:

  1. Add a clear profile picture from the device or Shopify Files.
  2. Use the public page name customers know.
  3. Write a short bio that explains what the shop sells.
  4. Choose which connected social icons should appear.
  5. Add up to three custom links with specific labels.
  6. Review the phone preview, then save.

Connected social handles come from Connections. If an icon opens the wrong profile, correct or reconnect the account there, then return to Shop Grid. When Flockly is opened through Shopify admin, saving publishes the public page.

Use the preview as a customer would. Check that the brand is recognisable, the first useful choice appears without effort, and every label matches its destination.

Add shoppable post tiles

Shop Grid tiles are available for Instagram or TikTok image posts. Video posts do not appear in the image grid.

Create or edit an eligible image post and turn on Add to Shop Grid. Then open Shop Grid, find the post under Post links, and choose its destination. You can enter a valid website address or select an available Shopify product. When the post has a tagged product, Use tagged product link can fill the suggested destination.

A tile appears publicly only when it has a valid destination. Draft, scheduled, publishing, live and failed labels help you understand the post state while configuring the page. A scheduled tile is still something to review before its associated campaign goes live.

Products switched off under Connections → Manage products are hidden from Flockly's product choices and Shop Grid, while remaining unchanged in Shopify.

Design the route, not just the grid

Match each tile to the promise made in the social post. If a post introduces one product, link to that product rather than the home page. If it presents a collection, use the collection destination. Avoid sending every tile to the same broad shop page because the visitor must repeat the search.

Keep images distinct enough to recognise at a small size. Shopify notes that product images can appear across its sales channels and recommends high-quality media that meets the relevant specifications in its product media guide. A close detail, lifestyle image and clean hero shot can tell three products or campaign moments apart. If you create new campaign assets, how to create Shopify product photos with AI explains the brief and review process.

Every plan includes the hosted page, product tiles, public details, social links, custom links and preview. Compare the maintained plan scope in Flockly plans and features. Growth and Scale add appearance controls including themes, backgrounds, typography choices, grid density and branding controls. Use Shop Grid and link-in-bio tracking as the maintained feature reference.

Understand clicks and attributed orders

When someone selects a Shop Grid product or custom link, Flockly records an anonymous aggregate click and redirects them to the chosen destination. Campaign information is added where appropriate so an eligible Shopify journey can be recognised in attribution reporting.

Growth and Scale add Shop Grid click, order and revenue attribution. An order is included only when the available Shopify journey connects it to the tracked visit. Cross-device shopping, missing journey data or a later route to the store can leave real influence uncounted.

Treat Shop Grid reporting as a focused view, not total store revenue or proof that one tile caused an order. How Shopify social media sales attribution works explains the evidence and limits in detail.

Review the page every campaign cycle

Before adding the address to a profile, open the public page outside the editor and test every destination. Repeat the check after a launch ends, a product sells out or a collection address changes.

A useful monthly review asks:

  • Does the profile picture and public name still identify the shop?
  • Do the three custom links reflect current customer priorities?
  • Does every visible tile lead to the product or collection it promises?
  • Are old campaign tiles still useful?
  • Do connected social icons open the intended profiles?
  • Does the page work clearly on a phone?

Shop Grid is most useful when it stays selective and current. Add the address to Instagram or TikTok only after this review, then make it part of the launch checklist for every future campaign.
