Getting started
Do I need to leave Shopify to use Flockly?
No. Flockly is a Shopify-embedded social media scheduler: it runs inside your Shopify admin, next to the products, media and orders you already manage. You plan, tailor and schedule posts for Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, LinkedIn, Pinterest and X without exporting a CSV, opening a separate tab stack, or maintaining a second product catalogue. Catalogue images and tracking links are available in compose because the app already sits on your shop data. Merchants often compare this to standalone tools that live outside Shopify; Flockly’s job is to keep social where the store already is, then show which journeys became Shopify orders. You still approve what goes live. When the App Store listing is live, install happens from Shopify like any other embedded app.
Which channels can Flockly publish to?
Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, LinkedIn, Pinterest and X: all six are included on every plan, with no per-channel surcharge. You connect each account once through Flockly’s secure linking flow, then schedule from one calendar inside Shopify admin. Supported surfaces include feed posts, Reels and Stories where the network allows them, Pins to a board you choose, and posts to a LinkedIn Page you manage. Publishing still obeys each network’s own rules for caption length, media ratios, and Page versus profile. Unlimited scheduled posts are included subject to those network limits, not an artificial Flockly post cap. If a network rejects a job, Flockly surfaces the network’s reason instead of marking the post published, so your calendar stays an honest record of what actually went live. See the supported channels and destinations.
What counts as a channel?
Each connected social account is one channel, so Instagram plus Facebook is two. Every plan includes all six networks and unlimited scheduled posts, subject to each network’s own limits.
How do I connect Instagram, TikTok and the rest?
Open Connections in Flockly and use Manage accounts. That opens a secure hosted linking page where you connect or disconnect networks. When you return to Flockly, refresh status so handles and connection state update. Follow the full social account connection guide.
Do I need a Facebook Page or LinkedIn Page?
Facebook publishing uses a Page you manage. LinkedIn analytics only work for Company Pages you manage (not personal profiles); pick the Page in Connections. Pinterest posts go to a board you choose.
Is Flockly the same as flockly.ai?
No. Flockly at getflockly.com is the Shopify-embedded social media scheduler and analytics product described on this site: plan, tailor and publish to six networks from Shopify admin, with Shop Grid and order attribution for merchants. flockly.ai is a separate, unrelated product in a different category. If you searched for “Flockly” and landed on an IRL ambassador or creator tool, that is not this app. Confirm you want Shopify social scheduling, eventually an App Store listing, and [email protected]. We call out the name overlap because brand search results can mix the two until each product’s entity is clearer to crawlers and assistants.
How is Flockly different from Buffer or other standalone schedulers?
Standalone schedulers are built as their own workspace: you connect networks there, then often re-export or re-link products from Shopify. Flockly is built to live inside Shopify admin so catalogue images, product picks and order data stay in the same place you already work. The trade-off is focus: Flockly is for Shopify merchants who want social planning, Shop Grid and social-to-order attribution next to the store, not a general-purpose agency suite for every CMS. Compared with “set and forget” auto-post tools, Flockly emphasises reviewable schedules, per-network tailoring and honest limits (for example which networks allow a comment inbox). When the App Store listing ships, install and billing also run through Shopify rather than a separate card on a third-party site.
Plans & features
What’s the difference between Starter, Growth and Scale?
All three plans include all six channels and unlimited scheduled posts (subject to network limits). The difference is how deep analytics, AI and community tools go.
Starter ($19/mo or $190/year) includes Smart Schedule, AI captions, Creative Studio and reusable Skills, 100 monthly creative credits, 10 GB storage, Shop Grid, comment and Instagram DM inboxes, up to six months of overview analytics and overview revenue attribution.
Growth ($49/mo or $490/year) includes 350 monthly creative credits, 50 GB storage, up to twelve months of detailed channel and post analytics, sales by channel, Instagram Auto-DM, full Shop Grid design and attribution, and downloadable reports.
Scale ($99/mo or $990/year) includes 800 monthly creative credits, 150 GB storage, advanced scheduling windows, blackout dates, minimum posting gaps, saved rules, branded reports and priority support. Its analytics and Auto-DM provider limits are the same as Growth.
Yearly prices include two months free. Included credits refresh each calendar month and do not roll over. Top-ups are not available at launch. Compare the full features and limits.
Is there a free trial?
Yes, once Flockly is live on the Shopify App Store. Every plan (Starter, Growth and Scale) includes a 14-day free trial on the plan you choose. You approve the subscription inside Shopify billing, so Flockly never sees your card; you are not charged until the trial ends unless you keep the plan active. Until the listing is public, getflockly.com is a waitlist only: join with your email and we message you when install is available, nothing else. Trial length, plan prices and feature boundaries match the homepage pricing section, so there is no separate marketing trial versus billing trial. After launch, start from the App Store install path rather than a third-party checkout page.
What is AI Assist?
On Starter, Growth and Scale, AI Assist can generate or rewrite captions from a brief you provide (tones, shorten, lengthen, emojis). Prompts go to OpenAI only for that request. Always review the result before you schedule. Details are in our Privacy Policy.
Can I schedule beyond a month?
Yes. A month is an example, not a limit. Manual scheduling on every Flockly plan can place posts months or even years ahead, subject to the connected social network’s requirements. Smart Schedule is available on every paid plan: it can arrange ready drafts across a one-to-four-week window using best-time data while keeping your preferred order. You review the proposed plan before confirming anything. See how to plan a full month of social content.
What is Smart Schedule?
On every paid plan, Smart Schedule places a queue of drafts across a planned week, fortnight or month using best-time data, while keeping your preferred order. Nothing goes live without your review. Scale adds channel posting windows, blackout dates, minimum posting gaps and saved scheduling rules. Read the Smart Schedule guide.
Publishing
Can I write a different caption for each network?
Yes. Write once, then tailor any channel that needs it: a longer caption for LinkedIn, hashtags moved into a first comment on Instagram, a shorter one for X. First Comment scheduling (posting hashtags or a link as the first comment) is on every paid plan for Instagram, Facebook, X and LinkedIn. Link behaviour varies by network.
Do I have to re-crop my images for every network?
No. Upload once and crop per channel inside Flockly: 4:5 for an Instagram feed post, 9:16 for a Story or Reel, and other ratios the network expects. All paid plans also include video trim, cover and audio controls.
Can I put links in X posts?
Not yet as clickable X links. Until that ships, a post to X can include the URL as plain text, and the composer warns you before you schedule. Links work normally on the other networks and on Shop Grid.
What happens if a network rejects my post?
You’re told plainly, with the network’s own reason. Flockly never marks something published that wasn’t. Where we can catch a problem first (caption over the limit, wrong aspect ratio), the composer warns you before you schedule. See how to resolve warnings and rejected posts.
Where do “best times to post” come from?
Flockly scores your real post performance, weights recent results more heavily, and blends in per-network benchmarks where your own history is still thin. Suggestions are labelled so you can see whether they came from benchmarks, a blend, or your data. Set your target region in Settings and times follow your audience timezone. Learn more about Flockly Intelligence and best posting times.
Analytics & revenue
How does Shopify revenue attribution work?
Flockly attributes Shopify orders when the available journey contains reliable social evidence. Verified Flockly link tracking takes priority, followed by a recognised Shopify UTM source and then a recognised social visit source or referrer. Shop Grid remains a distinct source, and posts published outside Flockly can still count when Shopify records recognised social evidence. Paid ads may roll into the same channel view if their UTM or referrer matches that channel. Orders that arrive through email, direct type-in, or unrelated campaigns are not claimed as social revenue. Starter shows an overview attributed total; Growth and Scale unlock sales by channel and detailed Shop Grid tap, order and revenue attribution. The goal is an honest read of social commerce, not a vanity number that swallows every order. Read how Flockly revenue attribution works.
What attribution does each plan include?
Starter shows an overview attributed revenue total. Growth and Scale unlock sales by channel and detailed Shop Grid tap, order and revenue attribution. Verified Shop Grid revenue is included in the overview total on every plan.
How far back does analytics history go?
Up to 6 months on Starter and 12 months on Growth and Scale, where the network supplies the data. Network performance can load within that window; follower-growth charts build from daily snapshots after you install, so a store that connected last week only has a week of growth history.
Why do some metrics show as unavailable or collecting?
Because the network didn’t report them, or we don’t have enough snapshots yet (common for follower growth right after install). Different platforms expose very different data. Where a number isn’t genuinely available, Flockly says so rather than inventing one.
Why does my LinkedIn show no analytics?
LinkedIn only reports analytics for Company Pages you manage, not personal profiles. Connect a LinkedIn Page and choose it in Connections. Publishing can still work; Page-level analytics need the Page selected.
Why is “Followers gained” empty when I install?
Social networks will not hand a third-party app your historical follower count from last month. Flockly can only measure growth from the day you install onward: it takes a daily snapshot, then compares snapshots once enough history exists. Until that baseline is in place, “Followers gained” stays empty rather than inventing a retroactive curve. That is why a store that connected last week only sees about a week of growth history, even if the brand has been posting for years. Other metrics that depend on network reporting can also show as unavailable or still collecting when the platform simply does not return the field. We would rather show a blank than a guess merchants might take to finance meetings.
Comments & messages
Why does the comment inbox only cover three networks?
Instagram, Facebook and LinkedIn are the only networks that currently give third-party apps a comments API merchants can use from a scheduler. TikTok, Pinterest and X do not expose an equivalent comments surface to apps like Flockly, so no honest scheduling product can show or reply to those comments in-app, no matter what a landing page promises. Flockly’s inbox therefore covers the three networks that are technically possible, and we will add each additional network the moment its API opens. Public reply windows can also close (often around seven days on Meta), which is a network rule, not a Flockly toggle. Preferring a clear limit over a fake all-network inbox is intentional product honesty for Shopify merchants.
Why can’t I reply to some comments?
Instagram and Facebook close the public reply window about seven days after a comment is left. Older comments can stay visible, but the networks no longer accept replies to them.
Is there a DM inbox?
Yes, for Instagram on Starter, Growth and Scale. Meta only accepts a reply within 24 hours of the person’s last message; older threads may be view-only. Facebook DMs are not available in Flockly today.
What is Auto-DM?
On Growth and Scale, Auto-DM watches comments on a live Instagram post and sends a private DM (for example with your link). Leave keywords blank to match any comment, or require words like LINK. Checks run about every 15 minutes; Private Replies only work on comments less than 7 days old. Both plans allow up to two new rules per Instagram profile within 24 hours, with each rule running for up to 15 days. This limits new rules, not messages; Instagram messaging limits also apply.
Shop Grid
What is the Shop Grid?
Shop Grid is Flockly’s shoppable link-in-bio page for Shopify merchants. It turns posts and products into a grid of tiles followers can tap from Instagram or TikTok bios, with each tile aimed at the matching product in your store instead of a generic multi-link dump. The grid is available on every plan; Growth and Scale unlock appearance customisation and deeper tap, order and revenue attribution for the grid itself. Merchants can keep the public page available on a Flockly-hosted link (for example on link.getflockly.com) so it stays reachable outside the admin. Tracking is built for Shopify journeys, so you can see which tiles earned attention versus which ones opened wallets, without bolting on a separate link-in-bio SaaS that does not know your catalogue. Learn how to set up and use Shop Grid.
Are Shop Grid clicks actually tracked?
Yes. Product and custom-link clicks route through a tracked redirect before the visitor reaches the destination. That records anonymous click totals and adds the campaign parameters Shopify needs for attribution, without slowing the shopper down.
Can I use my own domain for it?
Not currently. Shop Grid pages are served from Flockly’s own address (for example on link.getflockly.com) so they stay available outside Shopify and clicks can be tracked reliably. Per-store custom domains aren’t included.
Billing
How am I billed?
Through Shopify’s billing system (App Pricing). You approve the subscription in your Shopify admin and it appears on your regular Shopify invoice. Flockly never sees your card details. Change or cancel from Plan & billing in the app or your Shopify subscription settings. See the guide to free trials, billing and refunds.
Can I change plans later?
Yes, up or down, from Plan & billing. Shopify handles the subscription change and any proration according to its billing rules.
What happens to my posts if I cancel or uninstall?
Anything already published stays on the networks. Scheduled posts that haven’t gone out yet won’t be sent. Uninstalling stops future charges according to Shopify’s rules and triggers data deletion as described in our Privacy Policy.
Are charges refundable?
Amounts already billed are generally non-refundable except where the law requires otherwise, or where we agree in writing (for example if we charged you in error). See the Terms of Service.
Data & privacy
What Shopify data does Flockly access?
Read-only products, orders (including approved older-order access) and files, plus your store domain and access tokens so the app can run. Flockly stores only privacy-minimal normalized order-attribution fields for historical reporting; it does not store customer profiles or raw journey payloads. Full detail: Privacy Policy.
Do you sell my data or train AI on my store?
No. We don’t sell personal information. Optional AI Assist sends only the caption text or brief you submit to OpenAI to generate copy. We don’t use your content or metrics to train Flockly’s own models.
How do I delete my data?
Uninstall Flockly from Shopify admin, or email privacy@getflockly.com. Tokens are revoked on uninstall; remaining shop data is purged on Shopify’s redact timeline. See the Privacy Policy for retention windows.
