Connecting social accounts

Connect Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, LinkedIn, Pinterest and X from Flockly.

Reviewed 2026-08-09

Flockly supports Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, LinkedIn, Pinterest and X. Connections are started from the Connections page inside the app.

All six networks are available on every Flockly plan. Connect only accounts that the store is authorised to manage; you can add or remove channels later.

Connect a channel

  1. Open Connections in Flockly.
  2. Select the social network you want to add.
  3. Complete sign-in on the social network's authorisation screen and approve the requested permissions.
  4. If the network asks for a publishing destination, choose the Page, Company Page or board the business manages.
  5. Return to Flockly and select Refresh status if the new connection is not shown automatically.
  6. Confirm that the channel card shows the expected account and a live connection.

The authorisation screen is hosted by the social network. Flockly support does not need and should never receive your password.

Choose the correct destination

Some networks distinguish the signed-in person from the business destination used for publishing or reporting:

  • Facebook requires a Facebook Page. Publishing to a personal Facebook profile is not supported.
  • LinkedIn can publish through a personal profile, but LinkedIn only supplies Flockly with analytics for managed Company Pages. Choose a Company Page for complete reporting.
  • Pinterest requires a board. After connecting, use Pin to board in the Pinterest connection card and choose a board before publishing a Pin.

If the wrong Page or board was chosen, manage or reconnect the account, select the intended destination and then refresh the connection status.

Reconnect an expired account

A network can expire or revoke permission after a password change, security review or permission update. When this happens, the channel shows Reconnect required.

  1. Open Connections and select Reconnect for the affected network.
  2. Sign in on the network's own screen and approve the requested permissions again.
  3. Return to Flockly and select Refresh status.
  4. Review any scheduled posts that use that channel.

Reconnecting refreshes permission to publish. It does not delete drafts, scheduled posts or published-post records stored in Flockly.

Disconnect or change an account

Use the channel's Disconnect or management action on Connections, then refresh the status when you return. Flockly keeps the content already in your workspace. Future posts for a disconnected channel need attention before they can be managed or retried, so review the queue and choose whether to reconnect, reschedule, publish now or cancel.

If a connection is not working

  • The browser returned to Flockly but nothing changed: select Refresh status once. The network may have completed authorisation in a separate tab.
  • Facebook will not publish: confirm that a Facebook Page, rather than a personal profile, was selected.
  • LinkedIn analytics are empty: select a managed Company Page. Personal-profile publishing can work without Page-level analytics.
  • Pinterest says a board is missing or invalid: return to Connections and choose an available board.
  • Every network fails to connect or publish: this can indicate a temporary Flockly publishing-service issue rather than six separate account problems. Try again shortly, then contact Flockly if it continues.
  • A scheduled post is affected: open the post after reconnecting and follow links, warnings and rejected posts before retrying.

Account security

Never send a Shopify or social-network password to Flockly support. Sign-in credentials should only be entered on Shopify or the social network's own authorisation screen. For account-specific help, share your Shopify store name, the affected network and the message shown in Flockly instead.
